aria and Patrick were a couple that came to me with a very specific vision; they wanted their wedding portraits to look like they could have been from the royal wedding, and I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with them! To kick off the journey we had their engagement session at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, where I learned that Maria loves a more stoic, vogue style, old-school feel for her photos which was extremely helpful in preparation for the big day. Their wedding day started with Maria getting ready at the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, where we did an epic flat lay of her details which was beautifully styled by Kristyn Kerkorian. Maria & her bridesmaids had their hair done by Mia Carbone and makeup done by Christina G before changing into their gowns. Once the dresses were on, I spent time taking some dramatic solo portraits of Maria in her wedding gown with her veil perfectly laid out, followed by an epic vogue-style portrait of Maria & her bridesmaids in staggered sitting and standing poses in the Stuart Room. Patrick and the groomsmen got ready at the couples apartment before heading to the wedding ceremony at Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston for the ceremony. A good portion of the ceremony took place in Latin (!!!) and immediately after, the couple recessed and had a grand exit from the church with their families and wedding party lining the stairs cheering them on. Before departing in their vintage Rolls Royce, we took a few additional formal portraits along the side of the church with Maria's cathedral length veil and Patrick in his top hat. Maria absolutely loves her Vespa scooter and wanted to make sure it was featured prominently in her wedding portraits, so a few days before the wedding she parked it outside of the Fairmont so that when we arrived from the church the Vespa would be right there waiting for us. Brilliant move. Their reception took place in the Grand Ballroom and their florals and table decor was absolutely over the top and so thoughtfully executed. Jimmy Guzman from JNG Event Consulting created the centerpieces and the table scapes were designed and orchestrated by their incredible wedding planner Kristyn Kerkorian who absolutely made their dreams come true. The couples first dance was elegantly choreographed and included several beautiful bows, spins and even a dramatic lift at the end! I love photographing first dances in the Fairmont ballroom since there are so many different angles available both from the main floor level and looking down from the balcony. After the reception formalities, their DJ 617 Weddings had all of their guests up and dancing for the rest of the night! A huge thank you to Maria and Patrick for including me in their special day, to Kristyn Kerkorian for ALL of her hard work to make this wedding come to life, and to both of my associate photographers Iaritza Menjivar and Doug Levy..
