rom the moment I walked into the room where Krysta and her friends were getting ready I knew this was going to be an awesome day! Getting ready had a super chill vibe with all of their nieces and nephews running around, and everyone felt so excited in their interactions, which really translated into great candid photos right from the get go. Krysta had Gina Joubert doing hair and Aline Sarkis doing makeup before she was helped into Watters gown. All of the bridesmaids dresses were designed by Hailey Paige and the groom & groomsmen tuxes were designed by Vera Wang. The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the water. As their friends and family arrived, there were groups of guests who were so excited to see one another and I loved capturing the genuine candid smiles and hugs between old friends. ;) After the ceremony we headed down to Merkel Beach to take portraits with their wedding party, then towards the end of the session we started to get that sweet golden hour light for Krysta & Dan's portrait session. Wychmere is a special venue because the space has a casual, laid-back beach aesthetic but at the same time it feels fancy and formal, to the point where a black tie wedding feels totally at home here. Not many venues are able to walk that line so perfectly, and I love photographing at Wychmere because of it. The reception took place in the Harbor Room, and was decorated with simple and elegant florals designed by All about Flowers. Since the morning I knew this was going to be a banger of a dance party, and once their DJ Danny Walsh starting playing, their friends and family literally did...not...stop. Total insanity and I loved every minute of it. A huge thank you to Krysta & Dan for including me in their special day, and to my friend and associate photographer Liz Friar for always bringing her A game.
