T
his was a special wedding because Jami and John got ready at her family home, which is literally a 2 minute walk from the Newbury Boston. When I arrived at the house I was PUMPED to find a beautiful oversize picture window in the bedroom which immediately made me feel like I was transported to an apartment in Paris! The getting ready vibe was super relaxed, with Jami, her mom and sister having their hair and makeup done by Maricruz Hairstyles and JMV Makeup Studio. Once Jami changed into her gown (designed by Made with Love) I was super excited to take a few solo portraits of her by the window before her first look with her Dad. John was getting ready upstairs in the couples apartment, hanging with his dad and brother before getting into his tux by Blank Label. With the building being so important to them, we chose to do their first look downstairs in the lobby, taking advantage of the beautiful spiral staircase and building facade as a backdrop. From here, we headed out for wedding portraits around Back Bay, the Comm Ave Mall and into the Public Garden where we met their family and wedding party for photos. When we arrived at The Newbury, J&J had an intimate ketubah signing downstairs in the Ivy Room before the larger ceremony in the Garden Room with a chuppah designed by Fleur Events. The reception was held in the Assembly ballroom and all of details were coordinated by their awesome wedding planner (and my awesome friend!), Erin Davies who deserves so...many...props. Seriously, if your wedding has a lot of moving pieces or if you just need guidance or help in any capacity definitely give her a call. After the first dance, C-Zone Entertainment had everybody up for what can only be described as an absolutely insane night of dancing. Thank you so much Jami and John for inviting me to capture your special day, and a huge thank to my good friend and associate photographer Jason Correy for all his help on this one!
