Weddings

P
atty and Jared were such a fun couple to work with! They had an oceanfront summer wedding at Whychmere Beach Club on Cape Cod, a venue that is a perfect balance of laid back beach vibes mixed with an upscale, fancy and formal feel. The ladies got ready in a suite on-site with Lyndsay Simon doing hair and makeup and champagne toasts and booty popping dance parties in between! After the impromptu dance action the bridesmaids changed into their gowns from Show Me Your Mumu and helped Patty into her gown designed by Made with Love. From here, it was time for Patty & Jared's first look! July weddings are often super bright for first looks outside by the ocean, but it ended up being perfect with an overcast day that made for beautiful, even lighting. We took a few casual portraits on the dock with the couple before the wedding party joined us for a few more casual portraits. The ceremony was held on the lawn, and before the ceremony I was able to capture a ton of candid photos of guests smiling and hugging as they arrived. When the ceremony started I caught an awesome reaction from Jared as Patty walked down the aisle and all their guests looked on. After the ceremony the bride & groom headed to cocktail hour with their guests and a few minutes before the reception began I pulled them for a quick 5 minute portrait sesh to capture that golden hour light! As the guests moved into the reception, Night Shift was playing and people started dancing right from the get-go. I feel like more weddings should do this, so listen up people! You've got to set the expectation that this is going to be a DANCE PARTY and prime the pump early, lol! This wedding had some of the most intense dancing I've seen in a while and it was so much fun to photograph! A huge thanks to Patty and Jared for having me capture the day, and to my friend and associate photographer Iaritza Menjivar for all her help and hard work!
