athleen & Curt planned an awesome wedding in Portsmouth, NH from their home in NYC. While we never had the chance to meet in person until just before the big day, we hit it off immediately with a great phone conversation and a few hilarious e-mail exchanges. At the time when they were first considering hiring me, I also had another couple who was interested in the same date, but when I mentioned this to Kathleen and she threatened to "Go all New York on their A$$" if I met with them, I knew I had found my dream clients :)
We started the day with getting ready photos at the Wentworth By The Sea Hotel
(a big shout out to Joya Beauty
who did hair and makeup!) and then headed off to South Church in Portsmouth for the wedding ceremony. If you are planning a wedding in the Portsmouth area and have never been to South Church, I highly suggest giving it a look. The exterior facade is a beautiful grey granite which gives off an "old New England" vibe and the interior has clean, simple details and is filled with gorgeous, warm light! Since the church is located in the middle of downtown Portsmouth, it seemed only natural to use the old brick alleyways, gas lamps, cute shops and artwork as the backdrop for our portrait session. Curt and his groomsmen even enjoyed a short game of whiffle ball in the street! From here we headed back to the Wentworth By The Sea Hotel
for the wedding reception where Night Rhythm
kept the dance floor kicking all night long. Many thanks to my talented associate photographer that day, Jared Kuzia
, and of course, a HUGE thanks to Kathleen and Curt for inviting me to document their special day - congrats!!!
